MyGuideStone® only shows beneficiary designations made online. If it has been several years since you last provided your beneficiary designation, you may not see this reflected in your account. If you previously submitted a beneficiary designation as a paper form, it will not be listed in MyGuideStone but is still valid.
If you do not see a beneficiary designation online, we recommend adding your beneficiaries to your online account as a new beneficiary designation according to your preferences. It is always a good idea to review your beneficiary designations annually and keep your preferences up-to-date! You can submit a new beneficiary designation online at any time through MyGuideStone® to keep your preferences current. Learn how to designate beneficiaries online.
The details of submitted paper designations are hidden online for security reasons. Please contact us if you have questions about a previous beneficiary designation.
Please note that for most retirement plans, your spouse on file with GuideStone is the default primary beneficiary, even if you have not submitted a beneficiary designation to GuideStone. For most retirement plans and some investment accounts in some states, spousal consent signed in front of a notary is required to make someone other than the spouse a primary beneficiary.
